It has been many years since the English lords were rowed around the Mandal River in search of the big salmon. But we understand that both English lords and the large wild salmon thrive in the rapids at Mjåland Camping.
Mandal is the wild salmon town with the lifeline, the Mandals River, which has a salmon-carrying distance of 48 km. For the past ten years, the Mandals River has been one of Norway's ten best salmon rivers.
Mjåland Camping is located on the banks of the Mandal River. You can vacation with the best fishing opportunities in sub-area 3 and a short distance to the entire Mandal River. We have plenty of space for caravans, campers and tents. We rent caravans of various sizes and have a cabin with all amenities. There is also room for several people who want to rent fixed space.
Open from May 15th to September 15th.
Salmon enthusiasts come here from Norway, Germany, Denmark and several European countries. Eager fishermen who create "hygge" and who like to share their knowledge of the river and their passion for fishing with others. Mjåland camping has fishing grounds that are universally designed just off the campsite. Cabin and Sanitary building are adapted for the disabled. It's within an hour's drive to many of Sørlandets sights and family attractions and a short distance to shopping malls and Sørlandets finest beaches.
The fishing season lasts from June 1st to August 31st. With good fishing, the fishing season is extended to September 15th. Fishing licenses are sold at the Marnar Salmon Center, which is located 2 km from the campsite. Camping guests can pre-order fishing licenses for zones 3 and 4 in the Mandalselva so that they are ready on arrival.
